The horses woke up Dec. 21st to a white world.
Nothing could pass the two- to four-foot drifts in the driveway.

We could not lead horses on foot so we took them to turnout by ponying them off of other trusted mounts.
The horses sniffed at the white stuff and played tag along the fence.
Two kids on horseback beat down a driveway path.
A wall of white blocked the barn's side entrance.
Feeding took more than a little effort.
Friends jumped in to plow us out, but days later ...
... our world was buried again.
One more time, we dug our way ...
... to those anxiously waiting.
Later, we took time to enjoy the peace ...
